Results of the Call for Proposals of the ASO Ljubljana and ASO Sofia: Research Cooperation and Networking between Austria, Kosovo/UNMIK and South Eastern Europe
The Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices Ljubljana/Slovenia and Sofia/Bulgaria (ASOs) announced a Call for proposals for projects in Research Cooperation and Networking between institutions in Austria, Kosovo and South Eastern Europe (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia).
The aim of this projects is to support the development of long-term scientific collaboration. Funding is provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (bmwf) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the framework of "Multidimensional Project for the Implementation of an Institutionalised Partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the Field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation". http://www.aei-austria-kosovo.com/
The funding available is 120.000 Euro for all projects.
The funded activities shall enable scientists from Austria, Kosovo and South Eastern European countries to work together on mutually beneficial projects. The main goal is to promote networking, the exchange of research results and know-how, comparative studies and know-how exchange on European standards and pracitces in the chosen research area.
The following projects will be funded during 2008-2009:
Assessment of potential health risks associated with oxidative stress due to environmental pollution in the Kosovo - a cooperative research network
Improving organic fruit growing in Kosovo and Albania
GRid eInfrastructure and Networking with Kosovo
Influence of the environment on the quality of peppers and tomatoes in Kosovo and Monte Negro
Violence against Women in Macedonia and Kosovo
Role of migration and diaspora on the political and socio-economic reform and EU integration processes in South East Europe
Creation and selection of new wheat breeding lines in Kosovo
Lessons (not) learned with regard to Human Rights and Democracy: A Comparison of Kosovo, Macedonia and Bosnia and Hercegovina
Impact of Remittances on Educational Attainment in the Home Country - A Comparative Analysis of Kosova and Bosnia
Cost Oriented Robots for Manufacturing Automation
