NOTE: The grants are provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research, the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research provides the service and executes a number of grants. For some countries ASO Sofia provides information and an e-mail for requests concerning the application to selected grants relevant for research stays in Austria. We aim at attracting young scientists to participate in the grant schemes available, all of the grants give a unique opportunity to do research in Austria and they do also request a continuation of the research work at their home institution after finishing the scholarship in Austria. This means we aim to avoid effects of brain drain from the Southeast European countries, a phenomena the countries´research systems suffering at the moment.
